Brazil's CBA gets a 13.65% US anti-dumping deposit on aluminium foil after review
A US review set a new dumping margin for Brazilian foil maker CBA, which changes the cash deposit its US buyers pay.

US importers buying aluminium foil from Brazil's CBA now pay a 13.65% cash deposit. It applies to entries from 30 October 2026, when the US review results were published.
The US Department of Commerce found that CBA sold foil in the US below normal value. That is the price test used for dumping. The finding covers 1 November 2023 to 31 October 2024.
CBA means Companhia Brasileira de Alumínio and CBA Itapissuma Ltda. Commerce treats them as one company. Their final antidumping duty margin is 13.65%. That becomes their new deposit rate.
Some things stay the same. Exporters not covered in this review, but covered before, keep their earlier company rate. For all other producers or exporters, the deposit stays at 13.93%. That rate comes from the original investigation.
The duty order itself dates from November 2021. It also covered Armenia, Oman, Russia and Turkey.
What about past shipments? US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will assess duties on the reviewed entries. Commerce worked out a separate rate for each importer. Importers whose rate is below 0.5% pay no antidumping duty on those entries.
Commerce plans to send these instructions to CBP no earlier than 35 days after publication. The new deposit rates stay in place until further notice.
What to check
- Is your foil made or exported by CBA?
- Which deposit rate applies to your supplier?
- Do you have entries from the review period waiting to be settled?
