Export checks

Classify the goods, check Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Act controls, then obtain licences and lodge the export declaration where required.

  1. Check export-control lists, end use and destination.
  2. Obtain METI or other agency licences where required.
  3. Prepare invoice, packing and transport records for export clearance.

Entering Japan

Import checks

Declare the goods to Japan Customs, pay duties and taxes, and provide licences, origin evidence and product approvals where applicable.

  1. Confirm the Japanese tariff code and customs value.
  2. Check food, plant, animal, pharmaceutical and product controls.
  3. Submit the import declaration and supporting documents.
