Phytosanitary Inspection Certificate
An official certificate confirming that plants or plant products meet the importing country’s health requirements.
Issued by the exporting country’s plant health authority after inspection, certifying that plants or plant products are free from specified pests and meet the importing country’s requirements.
It usually has to be issued before shipment and within a defined period, so it cannot be obtained retrospectively if it was overlooked. Distinct from ISPM 15, which concerns wood packaging rather than the cargo.
