Open Top Container

A container with a removable roof, allowing cargo to be loaded from above.

A container whose roof is a removable sheet or hard cover, so cargo can be craned in from above. Used for goods too tall or awkward to load through the doors, and for anything loaded by grab.

Where cargo protrudes above the roof line it becomes out of gauge, with the surcharges and stowage limits that follow.
