Out of Gauge
Cargo exceeding the dimensions of the container or vehicle carrying it.
Cargo that protrudes beyond the standard envelope - over-height, over-width or over-length. It restricts how the unit can be stowed, blocks adjacent slots on a vessel, and attracts surcharges reflecting the capacity it displaces.
Out-of-gauge movements need to be agreed before booking, since not every route, terminal or road can accept them.
