Marking
Identifying information applied to packages, and legally required labelling such as country of origin.
Two things travel under this word. Shipping marks identify packages so they can be matched to documents. Regulatory marking is what the importing country requires on the goods themselves - country of origin, safety marks, language requirements.
The second is a condition of entry. Goods correctly declared but incorrectly marked can be refused, and remarking at the border is expensive.
