Free Trade Zone
A designated area where goods may be landed, handled and re-exported without customs duty.
An area where imported goods can be held, handled and re-exported without duty. The concept overlaps heavily with foreign trade zone and free port; the terminology follows national law rather than any international standard.
Not to be confused with a free trade area, which is an agreement between countries to reduce tariffs on originating goods.
