Export Processing Zone
A designated area where imported inputs are processed for export under relaxed duty treatment.
An area, treated as outside the customs territory for duty purposes, where imported materials can be processed and re-exported without duty being paid on the inputs.
Goods entering the domestic market from such a zone are treated as imports at that point, and duty falls due then. See also free trade zone.
