Bonded Warehouse
A customs-approved warehouse where imported goods are stored with duty and tax suspended until removal.
A warehouse approved by customs in which imported goods are held without duty and import tax being paid at the time of arrival. The liability is secured and suspended, not cancelled.
Its value is cash flow and optionality. An importer can land stock, hold it, and pay duty only on the portion actually released into the market - or re-export the rest without ever paying. Permitted operations inside the warehouse, and the maximum storage period, are set by the national customs administration and vary widely.
