Dimensional Weight
A weight derived from a shipment’s volume, used for pricing when goods are bulky relative to their mass.
Volume converted into a notional weight using a divisor set by the carrier. The shipment is charged on whichever is greater, actual or dimensional weight.
Divisors differ between carriers and modes, so the same carton can carry different dimensional weights with different providers. Also called volumetric weight. See chargeable weight.
