Certificate of Conformity
A document attesting that goods meet a specified standard or regulation.
A statement that goods conform to a named standard, technical regulation or contract specification. Depending on the regime it may be issued by the manufacturer, a testing laboratory, an inspection body or a government agency.
Some countries require one before goods can be cleared, and require it to come from a body they recognise - so a certificate accepted in one market may be worthless in another.
