Booking
A reservation of space on a specific vessel, flight or vehicle for an identified shipment.
The reservation of carriage capacity: a slot on a sailing, space on a flight, a vehicle for a load. It fixes the intended routing and equipment and generates the reference the shipment is tracked under.
A booking is not the contract of carriage. That is evidenced by the transport document issued once the goods are received, and its terms can differ from what was booked.
