Equipment interchange receipt
A record of a container’s condition at the moment responsibility for it passes between parties.
A document completed when a container changes hands - carrier to haulier, haulier to shipper - recording its condition and any existing damage.
It decides who pays for damage found later. A receipt signed without inspecting the unit is how a party inherits somebody else’s damage.
