DAP
Incoterms rule: the seller delivers at a named destination, ready for unloading, with import clearance left to the buyer.
Delivered at Place. The seller bears cost and risk to the named destination and places the goods at the buyer’s disposal on the arriving vehicle, ready to be unloaded.
The buyer unloads, and the buyer clears the goods for import and pays duty and taxes. That last point is where DAP is most often misused: a seller quoting DAP to a buyer’s door has not agreed to handle import clearance, and goods can sit at destination while the parties discover it.
DAP replaced the older DDU rule in Incoterms 2010. If the seller is also to unload, the rule is DPU; if the seller is also to clear and pay duty, it is DDP.
