Documents against Acceptance
A collection in which documents are released once the buyer accepts a draft, with payment due later.
Under a documentary collection, the buyer receives the documents - and therefore the goods - on accepting a time draft rather than on paying.
The seller has given up control of the cargo in exchange for a promise, so it carries the buyer’s credit risk from that point until maturity.
