Quarantine
Detention of goods, animals or plants pending inspection or treatment for health risks.
Holding goods, plants or animals under official control until inspected, treated or released. Requirements vary sharply by country and by commodity, and quarantine holds are a common source of delay for food, timber, plants and used machinery carrying soil.
