IMDG
The International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, governing hazardous cargo carried by sea.
The code issued by the International Maritime Organization for the carriage of dangerous goods by sea, covering classification, packing, marking, labelling, documentation and stowage.
Compliance is mandatory rather than advisory, and misdeclaration is treated as a serious offence - undeclared hazardous cargo has caused vessel fires and total losses.
