Feeder Vessel
A smaller ship carrying containers between a hub port and smaller ports on the same network.
A short-sea vessel connecting smaller ports to a hub where deep-sea services call. Feedering adds transit time and an extra handling, which is why a port pair served directly is often faster than one with more sailings on paper.
