FCA
Incoterms rule: the seller delivers goods, cleared for export, to a carrier at a named place.
Free Carrier. The seller clears the goods for export and delivers them to the carrier or another party the buyer nominates, at a named place. Risk passes on delivery there.
FCA is the most broadly useful rule in the set. It works for any mode, it puts export clearance with the party able to perform it, and by naming the place precisely the parties can place the handover anywhere from the seller’s loading dock to a terminal.
Where the named place is the seller’s premises, the seller loads. Where it is elsewhere, the seller delivers ready for unloading and does not unload.
