Consular Invoice
An invoice on a prescribed form certified by the destination country’s consulate before shipment.
An invoice prepared on a form specified by the importing country and certified by its consulate in the exporting country. Historically used to verify value and origin before arrival.
Far fewer countries require one now than once did, but where the requirement survives it is a precondition of clearance, not a formality.
