Arrival notice
A notice from the carrier or agent telling the consignee that goods have arrived and what must happen before release.
Sent to the consignee, and to any notify party named on the transport document, once a shipment reaches destination. It sets out what has arrived, where it is held, what charges are outstanding and what documents are needed for release.
It is worth acting on promptly: free time before demurrage and detention begin usually runs from arrival, not from the day the notice is read.
