Agency Fee
The fee a shipping agent charges an owner or operator for handling a vessel’s business at a port.
What a port agent charges for representing a vessel locally: arranging the berth, clearing the ship inwards and outwards, dealing with authorities, arranging supplies and crew matters.
It is a charge against the vessel rather than against any one cargo, though it can reach cargo interests indirectly through disbursements under a charter.
